 Ramps & Lifts Minimize

Action Health Care sells and installs a large variety of scooter/wheelchair ramps and lifts, stair lifts, porch lifts, portable patient lifts, ceiling track lifts, and “Telecab” elevators.  We also provide custom built ramps for temporary or permanent use.

Portable Scooter and Wheelchair Ramps
Both suitcase and trifold ramps are ideal for transporting in a vehicle as they both fold to manageable sizes.

Suitcase Model
These portable ramps have a single fold along their lengths and a carrying handle to make it easy to transport. The suitcase model comes in lengths of 2’, 3’, 4’, 5’ and 6’.

Trifold Ramps
Trifold ramps provide maximum length while folding in 3 places to convert to a much smaller dimention for easy carrying and storage. The trifold model comes in 5’, 6’, 7’, 8’ and 10’ lengths.

Go-Go Scooter lift
The Go-Go travel lift mounts into the trunk of a vehicle and uses an electronic remote control to lift the scooter into the vehicle.

The Go-Go lift will lift the Go-Go scooter and Go-Go power chair.

porchlift.jpg Porch Lifts
Action Health Care can provide accessibility to an elevated entrance by installing a “porch lift”.  The porch lift is designed to vertically elevate a client a maximum distance of 48” or 72”.  The lift is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair or scooter and has an average weight capacity of 750lbs.  The porch lift is ideal for people who want access to a home or building and do not have the space for a long ramp.

Stair lifts
Stair lifts are ideal for anyone who requires the use to 2 levels of a home but do not have the ability to climb the steps themselves.  They allow people to remain independent in their own home instead of having to move to smaller, one level building.  Stair lifts are compact and economical and still allow “normal” use of the steps by other people.

Telecab
The Telecab is a 2-stop residential elevator that allows the client to utilize both levels of a home and is wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.  Not only is the Telecab very esthetically pleasing, it is also compact and economical with many built-in safety features.

Portable Floor Patient lifts
We at action health care know the importance of ensuring the safety of the client as well as the caregiver.  Portable floor patient lifts are used to transfer the non-ambulatory patients with very minimal effort from the caregiver. They can be used in almost any room of the house or institution and can transfer the client to and from any position (sitting or lying). Floor lifts are available in electric or manual hydraulic models and have an average weight capacity of 450lbs. (Heavy duty models also available)

Ceiling Track Lifts
Like the portable floor lifts, ceiling lifts greatly increase the safety of the client and caregiver.  The track is installed in the ceiling and the sling is attached to the lift mechanism, which slides along the tracking.  The ceiling lift is preferred by many health care professionals and at home caregivers because of its stability, easy use and very compact design.

Powered Ceiling lift can be used only on the track they are attached to.

Portable Ceiling lifts can be moved from track to track.

 Walkers Minimize

Walkers are very useful devices for anyone who is having difficulty maintaining their balance as they walk or transfer.  Most models are partially funded by the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) as long as a therapist assesses the client and determines the client requires the walker for everyday use.  There are 3 different Types (or classes) of walkers that are funded by ADP and one class of walkers that is not funded. Each walker is used for a different reason.

Standard pick-up Walkers (NOT funded by ADP)
Standard pick-up walkers are lightweight, folding walkers with no wheels.  They are generally used for patients on a short-term basis, such as recovery from a hip replacement.  Standard pick-up walkers are an inexpensive purchase or rental.

Type 1 Walkers (ADP funded)
Type 1 walkers are similar to pickup walkers in that they are lightweight and foldable, but they have 2 or 4 small wheels (swivel or fixed) and sometimes a braking system. They are designed mostly for indoor use on flat terrain.

Type 2 Walkers (ADP funded)
Type 2 walkers have 4 wheels (2 swivel on the front, 2 fixed on the back), a braking system, and a seat that allows the user to sit down for a rest while stationary.   Most also come with a basket for carrying small items.  Usually the wheels on a Type 2 walker are no bigger than 6” in diameter and it is designed for use indoors or outside on relatively even terrain.

Type 3 walkers (ADP Funded)
Type 3 Walkers have most of the same features as the Type2 walker such as 4 wheels, braking system, seat and basket, but the wheels on a Type 3 walker are a minimum of 8” in diameter and are designed to travel on almost any terrain.

 Scooters Minimize

Electric scooters are designed to keep people mobile and independent.  Most scooters have batteries that will allow the user to travel up to 30 kilometers on one charge.  They are available in 3 or 4-wheeled models, which make them very maneuverable and will travel on almost any terrain with little to no problems.  Action Health Care carries a variety of new and used scooters for sale or rental.
